The initial investigation determined that the crash occurred Sunday, January 17, 2016, at approximately 12:14 a.m., as Dillon Davis, 23, of Millsboro, was operating a 2003 Saturn Ion and was traveling in a northbound direction on Long Neck Road while approaching Bay Road, Millsboro. Deldeo, as well as a 21-year-old female passenger in Davis’ car, was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Medical Center. They were then both flown by Delaware State Police Aviation (Trooper 2) to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center where they are being treated for serious injuries.

Dillon Davis, who was not injured in the crash, was transported to Troop 7 where a DUI investigation ensued. Davis was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, two counts of Vehicular Assault 1st Degree, Possession of Marijuana (3 grams), and three counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6501.00 secured bail.
