RIVERDALE, MD. — About the same time that early risers are out for morning jogs and coffee pots are beginning to percolate, the first murder of the day turned up in Prince Georges County.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Riverdale that occurred on Aug. 16, 2015. An indication of how little the cops have to go on in this case is that the police are already offering a reward of $25,000 reward to entice those who want to put serious bucks in their pocket in return for ratting out the dirtbag or dirtbags responsible for this slaying.

On August 16, 2015, at about 5:40 am, patrol officers were called to the 5700 block of 67th Avenue for the report of a shooting. Information was gathered that led officers to stop a car about a block away. Inside that car was a man suffering from gunshot wounds. An ambulance rushed the victim to a hospital where he died a short time later.

Based on their preliminary investigation, detectives believe the victim was shot outside in the 5700 block of 67th Avenue. Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspect in this case.
