Crash sends one to trauma unit
LOTHIAN, MD. One person was flown to Shock Trauma following a single vehicle accident in Lothian on Aug. 8, 2015. Just after 4:20 p.m., units responded for the reported overturned minivan in the area of the 300 block of West Bay Front Road near McKendree Road. A 45 year old female with serious injuries was treated by paramedics and then transported to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police helicopter.
Police cruiser rear-ended by truck
MILLERSVILLE, MD. — Anne Arundel County Police report one person was flown to Shock Trauma following a motor vehicle collision on I-97 Wednesday morning Aug. 5, 2015. Just after 8:20 a.m. units were dispatched to the area of I-97 South in the area of Route 32.
Arriving units found a motor vehicle collision involving an Anne Arundel County Police car which had been rear ended by a truck with the officer trapped in the vehicle. The officer, an approximately 40 year old male, was extricated in about 30 minutes and flown to Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Helicopter with serious injuries. (Anne Arundel County Police later released that the officer was discharged home from Shock Trauma)
Aircraft landed safely on its belly
TIPTON AIRPORT — There were no injuries when an aircraft landing at Tipton Airport ran off the runway. Just before 9:30 a.m., units were dispatched to the airport for the report of an aircraft emergency. Arriving units found single engine Cessna off the runway. The lone occupant of the aircraft was uninjured.
Head-on crash on Rt. 2
HARWOOD, MD. — One person was seriously injured in a motor vehicle collision Aug. 5, 2015 in Harwood. Around 10:20 a.m. units were dispatched to the 3600 block of Solomon’s Island Road for a motor vehicle accident with an occupant trapped.
Arriving units found a head on style collision between a tractor trailer and a sedan with one occupant trapped in the sedan. The trapped occupant, a 45 year old female, was extricated in less than 20 minutes. Patient was transported to Shock Trauma by United States Park Police helicopter with serious injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to Bowie Health Center with minor injuries.
