Man shot dead in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, VA. — While the cops aren’t quite calling it a murder, they do say that they have one dead guy, another guy who knows something about it and apparently gunfire had quite a bit to do with the dead guy being dead. The cops also report finding the gun. Being careful not to scare the public, the cops were quick to say that this slaying is not cause for concern for the community.

Fairfax County police reports that Detectives are investigating a death that occurred in the 8100 block Curving Creek Ct. in the Springfield area on Thursday July 16. Police responded to the home at around 10 p.m. for a report of a disturbance. Upon police arrival to the home, officers discovered a man with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremities outside on the front stairs.

MURDER USAUpon further investigation, a person and weapon, believed to have been involved in the shooting, were located.

The victim was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and died.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. They believe it was an isolated to the residence, and that the two men involved knew each other. Police do not believe there is a threat to the public.

The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
