Police say that while at the detention center, Schmidt made threats to harm Cpl. Sokoloff and his family. Schmidt was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and making threats against a police officer.

Both suspects were located at their respective residences in Caroline County and taken into custody without incident by the Maryland State Police Apprehension Team.
