According to Sergeant M. Anaya of the Virginia State Police,  Antoine Jerome Milford, 32 YOA, of Virginia Beach has been charged with the following:

1. Reckless Driving 91/55 mph (work zone)
2. Driving under the influence
3. Felony Elude
4. Driving while revoked
5. Unauthorize use of a motor vehicle
6. Fail to obey highway sign
7. Fail to stop at stop sign
8. Fail to stop at red light

Police say that on 05-14-15, at approximately 0010 hours, Virginia State Trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2014 Hyundai Elantra for reckless driving 91/55 in a safety work zone on WB I-264 at the old toll plaza in the City of Virginia Beach.  The vehicle stopped, but as the Trooper was attempting to check the registration/license plate, the driver sped off and took the Independence Blvd exit towards Town Center.  The vehicle exited the interstate and headed down Bonnie Road.  Trooper lost sight of the vehicle after the driver crossed over Virginia Beach Blvd, but was found moments later when it was discovered that the vehicle had crashed at the intersection Kellam Road and Aragona Blvd. striking a utility pole. 

The driver, Antoine Jerome Milford, DOB: 9/82, of the 2400 block of Dillingham, Va Beach, VA was transported to Virginia Beach General Hospital for a complaint of a broken leg.  The driver was suspended and alcohol played a factor.  

  • Trooper lost sight of the vehicle after the driver crossed over Virginia Beach Blvd, but was found moments later when it was discovered that the vehicle had crashed at the intersection Kellam Road and Aragona Blvd. striking a utility pole.
