Delaware Police BeatMotel Patron Robbed; Heathen Gunman Fires at Pursuers Who Gave Chase

WILMINGTON, DEL. – Delaware State Police report that robbery unit detectives are currently investigating an armed robbery in which shots were fired that occurred at a local motel just south of Wilmington.

Police say that the initial investigation has determined that the incident occurred yesterday, Saturday, May 9, 2015, at approximately 10:30 a.m., as a heathen with a gun entered an unsecured room at the Fairview Inn, located at 1051 S. Market Street, Wilmington.

The suspect, who was armed with an unknown make and model gun, confronted a 25-year-old-female occupant of the room and demanded property from her. The female victim complied with the suspect’s demands and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property to him.

The suspect then fled from the room and began to run through the parking lot of the motel. Police say that the armed thief was then chased by several subjects who had witnessed the incident. The suspect then fired several shots from his gun towards his pursuers; however, none of them were struck as he clearly only knew how to steal a gun, not become proficient with it while firing backwards as he ran.  The bozo gunman must watch too much TV.

Police say this dunderhead then fled in an unknown make and model vehicle which was being operated by another male suspect.

The suspects could only both be described as being males. No physical or clothing description is available at this time.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident they are asked to contact Detective James Doherty at 302-365-8566. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
