On Sunday, April 19, 2015 at approximately 11:25 p.m., a 1997 Dodge Caravan was traveling east on Mountain Road in the area of Mansion House Crossing when it struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Mountain Road.

Immediately prior to the collision, it was determined that the pedestrian was dropped off on the north side of the roadway in front of the 7-Eleven store. The pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway to the “The Office Bar and Grill” when he walked in front of the path of the vehicle. The pedestrian was attempting to cross Mountain Road outside of a crosswalk and was wearing all black clothing. In addition, when this collision occurred, it was raining steadily, further reducing visibility.

After the impact, the driver pulled into the 7-Eleven parking lot and notified the police of the collision. There is no evidence to suggest the driver was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol or speeding when this collision occurred. The investigation is being handled by the Traffic Safety Section.
