Accomack Police Beat: Sheriff seeks information about fire that killed Adron Knight Jr. in Horntown

According to Sheriff Todd Godwin, at approximately 10:51 PM on March 3, 2015, a structure fire at the Trails End campground in Horntown was reported to the Eastern Shore 911 Center.  After firefighters arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire, a body was discovered inside the structure and the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police were notified and responded to the scene.

Accomack County Va Sheriff patrol carAn autopsy was performed by the Medical Examiner’s Office in Norfolk on March 4th at which time the body was identified as being that of 46 y/o Adron Wilson Knight, Jr. of Greenbackville.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing and the fire appears to have begun in the kitchen area of the home.  At this time, both the fire and death appear to be accidental in nature, however, a final disposition is pending the Medical Examiner’s report and the results of additional lab examinations.
