Woman saved from Owings house fire near death at trauma center; she was pulled out of inferno by two hero firefighters

The two story, wood framed single family dwelling was heavily damaged, which caused it to collapsed. A single adult female occupant was in the structure at the time of the fire and reported the fire to 911. Upon the dispatch of the fire, two local off duty Prince George’s County firemen arrived at the scene. They made entry into the structure, discovered a female occupant and removed her from the residence.

The initial police report stated that the Jeep was traveling eastbound on Rt. 50 and turned north/bound onto Sixty Foot Road and was in the process of crossing Rt. 50 at about 7:40 pm. The police reported that the Mazda was traveling westbound on Rt. 50 when it t-boned the Jeep in the passenger side of the vehicle in the intersection. Police said that alcohol was not a factor but in the case of fatal wrecks, a blood sample taken from both drivers is required and that test would determine whether any drugs or alcohol were in the systems of either operator, even though the initial observations of the troopers on the scene reveal no obvious signs of substances.

Coast Guard took boat crew away from that ‘sinking feeling’ and delivered them to dry land

The Coast Guard rescues two people Sunday, March 8, 2015, from a sinking boat approximately 35 miles southeast of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. The Coast Guard received an EPIRB alert from the vessel and contacted watchstanders at Shaw Air Force Base who contacted the South Carolina Air National Guard’s 169th Fighter Wing who confirmed the location of the vessel with the help of F-16s conducting training offshore.
