LEXINGTON PARK, MD. According to Maryland State Police Sgt. Jeff Jones, on November 24, 2014, management from a local hotel in the Lexington Park area of St. Mary’s County, MD contacted the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack to report a CDS complaint on one of their rented hotel rooms. Maryland State Police-Central South Region Major Drug Trafficking Unit was contacted and responded to the Hotel to conduct an investigation.
During the course of the investigation, suspect, Wayne William Webb III was contacted and identified as the owner of the hotel room. A search and seizure warrant was executed on Webb’s room. During the search of the hotel room, investigators discovered Webb was renting a storage facility located in the Lexington Park area of St. Mary’s County, MD. Investigators from MSP-Central South Major Drug Trafficking Unit executed a search and seizure warrant on a storage facility being rented by Webb. The following items were recovered from the hotel room and the storage facility:
- 3.4 Pounds of HIGH GRADE Marijuana with a street value of over $28,000.00
- $2,450.00 in U.S. Currency
- Several Assault Weapons and Handguns
- Over 300 rounds of ammunition
- Packaging materials that would indicate distribution
- Several law Enforcement and/or Military grade items.
Webb was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing. He was then transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a hearing with the District Court Commissioner.
Additional charges are pending a review with States Attorney for St. Mary’s County.
