The Case of the Girly Burglar
Lexington Park, Maryland -08/14/2014 – Police report that a Lexington Park woman tried to leave home for work when she discovered that an alleged dirtbag had broken into her vehicle and tore up the ignition in an attempt to steal the vehicle. In his quest for cash to likely buy drugs or a new middle name that isn’t so feminine, the car burglar allegedly stole the victim’s GPS which is likely to send him in a new direction in life.
Just like the old Johnny Cash song, “A Boy Named Sue”, Malik Sharon Jordan was stuck with a girly middle name, which when spread around the jail, may make him wish that he, like the victim, had a job and wasn’t out on the streets and allegedly stealing from others.
According to police, on August 7, 2014, a victim entered her vehicle to leave for work when she discovered her vehicle had been burglarized and a TomTom brand GPS unit had been stolen.
The ignition had been severely damaged in an attempt to steal the vehicle .
Deputy Cole responded for the report. During Deputy Cole’s investigation he learned the GPS unit had been pawned by a suspect identified as Malik Sharon Jordan, 18, of Lexington Park.
Deputy Cole located Jordan at his residence and recovered additional evidence he had committed the crime. Jordan was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was charged with Rogue and Vagabond, Property Destruction, Theft $1,000 to $10,000, and Theft Under $1,000.
