Tall ship Brig Unicorn, featured in Pirates of the Caribbean, sunk near St. Lucia

The Saint Lucian pirate ship which was featured in several Hollywood movies including “Pirates of the Caribbean” may not be salvageable, a top Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard official has told Saint Lucia Times.

“Given the depth of water in which it sank I doubt that is possible,” Lieutenant Ralphie Ragguette told the Times via telephone.

Raguette said he believed the vessel was very old and suggested that possible structural problems may have contributed to the boat sinking, although he admitted that he had received no information directly from the crew.
