Though I was only four or five years old, I still remember my first charter boat fishing trip on the Chesapeake Bay.

When my Dad told me I was going fishing, I got my toy plastic reel and steel rod that had a rubber hook for snatching up open mouthed plastic goldfish in a dexterity game.

I cut off the rubber hook with safety scissors and tied on a Christmas ornament hook. I was ready to catch a fish.

Leonardtown, Maryland – St. Mary’s Sheriff Tim Cameron reports that on May 28, 2014 at 6:46 AM, a citizen called the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) and reported seeing a male subject place a duffle bag under the soda machines inside the McDonald’s restaurant located on Merchant’s Lane in the Leonardtown Center. The subject then walked out of the McDonald’s and was seen near the trash cans before leaving the shopping center on foot heading south along Point Lookout Road.

Sheriff Dana Lawhorne says, “We are entrusted with the lives and safety of those in our custody. The criminal actions of Bryant Pegues are a grave violation of the public trust. We will continue to assist Alexandria Police and the Commonwealth’s Attorney as they pursue a successful prosecution.” At the request of Alexandria Police, no mug shot of the suspect or additional information about the offense will be released by the Sheriff’s Office at this time

Delaware State Police report Ocean City resident Alfred Cochran took a slight curve at high speed; flip was fatal

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating a single vehicle crash that killed an Ocean City man.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon as Alfred E. Cochran, 75 of Ocean City, MD, was operating a 2007 Honda Accord eastbound on Gum Road just east of Pepper Road. As the Accord entered into a slight left curve, at an apparent high rate of speed, the vehicle drove off the south edge of the road and struck a culvert pipe causing it to vault into the air.

Emergency medical personnel arrived and pronounced the driver of the vehicle dead at the scene.
