Baltimore cops seek clues on who murdered old man in his home

UPDATE (April 29): Baltimore County Police Homicide detectives continue to search for the person responsible for killing 80-year-old Willard Dimitri Rykowski in his Halethorpe home on April 22.
Willard Dimitri Rykowski was last seen at the 8:00 a.m. mass at St Clement’s Church on April 21.
Detectives have few leads in the case and are reaching out to the public for help.

Baltimore County Police have identified the elderly man found deceased in his home on Tuesday as 80-year-old Willard Dimitri Rykowski.
Police responded to his home in the 300 block of Third Avenue in Halethorpe after an acquaintance of his called and asked police to check on him. When police arrived at the home, they found Willard Dimitri Rykowski on the floor suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was declared deceased at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Homicide unit.

Original release (April 22):At 3:27 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to a home in the 300 block of Third Avenue in Halethorpe to check on a subject. The caller into 911 stated that he had not had any contact with a resident of the location since last week and wanted police to check on him.When officers arrived at the location, they found an elderly male suffering from traumatic injuries. He was declared deceased at the scene.Homicide Detectives are investigating.
