OPERATION “BLUE DRAGON” YIELDS MULTIPLE ARRESTS
Narcotics Investigation – On November 12th, detectives from the Prince William-Manassas City-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force, with the assistance of the Fairfax County Police Criminal Intelligence Unit, concluded a narcotics operation which centered on street level buys of prescription medications and heroin.
The operation, dubbed “Blue Dragon”, began in September of 2013 and over the course of the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for 41 individuals, 31 of which are now in custody. Detectives also executed search warrants at 7 different target locations.
After each arrest was made, detectives educated the individual on substance abuse and provided him or her with a pamphlet and other information on how to receive help for their addiction. We would like to remind the public that it is extremely important to secure your medications in your home and to follow your doctor’s recommendations while using prescribed any medication. If you possess any medication which you no longer need, please contact your physician or pharmacist on where you can properly dispose of the medication.
