Friday the 13th wasn’t lucky for motorist in Oxon Hill

September 14, 2013: According to PG County police, the victim in a fatal collision which took place early on Friday the 13 was identified as 30-year-old Bernido Lopez of the 7000 block of Floyd Avenue in Springfield, VA.
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal single-car collision in Oxon Hill.
On September 13, 2013, at about 4:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 6500 block of Bock Road for the report of a collision. Upon arrival, patrol officers discovered a car overturned in a ditch. The driver was still inside.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was heading westbound on Bock Road when the driver appears to have lost control. The car went down into a ditch and rolled over onto its roof. Once emergency responders were able to remove the victim from the car, she was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Investigators are working to identify the victim.
